SMC Insulation Board (Sheet Molding Compound)

SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) insulation board is a thermoset composite of unsaturated polyester resin, chopped glass fibre and mineral fillers, compression-moulded into rigid sheets. It combines high mechanical strength with outstanding electrical and arc-resistance properties, making it a core material in modern switchgear and power distribution equipment.

Our SMC board offers arc resistance of at least 180 seconds, dielectric strength ≥12 kV/mm and UL94 V-0 flame-retardant performance, while withstanding continuous service temperatures up to 180 °C. The glass-fibre reinforcement delivers high flexural strength (≥120 MPa) and excellent dimensional stability under thermal and mechanical stress.
